5.9.09 The Silvermine Guild Arts Center Gallery
created videos of Douglas Dreishpoon, the curator of the
juried show the 60th Annual Art of the Northeast,
speaking about each piece he chose for the show. Click
here to watch the video that includes
my piece Bandages: Pattern 1: CVS. Dr.
Dreishpoon states, "I love this idea. Someone has taken
Band-Aids and made a minimalist construction out of
them. It's creative, it's got imagination, it's very
simple, very patternistic and has the requisite
obsessive quality that I really like. I like people who
are a little on the obsessive side, I don't know why. I
think it produces a certain kind of intense
work."
5.4.09 Yesterday I had the opportunity to have
my portfolio reviewed by three art world professionals. It
was exceptionally helpful and motivating. A big thank you
to Jen Mergel, Associate Curator, ICA, Boston; Robert Siegelman, artist and
professor at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts,
Boston and Camilo Alvarez,
Owner/Director/Curator/Prepator, Samson Projects, Boston.
